I just had to share this message from our friend, Trish Allen Norcutt. I told my Mom, 86 yrs old who is caring for my dementia suffering Dad (91), that my gift is to support her all year around with just that list you stated. I moved 7 yrs ago to be three blocks from them. I shop for groceries, drive them wherever they need to go, and bring over hot dinners at least twice a week. But the most important thing is my time spent with my Dad. I put on music and we tap our feet together or even dance if he is up to it. I enjoy this special time and it gives my Mom a well deserved break. For them, its not about money as they planned well in their 68 years of marriage. They never wanted to be in a position to ask for help and they dont need to now. My siblings and I are just there, gladly offering just the way they were there for us all of our lives. Dementia is an incredibly sad disease but there can be good to come out of it. Lessons of love are in our life making it almost like Christmas every day!
