I just had to watch the big Purina dog show held in Pennsylvania(?). I saw the group judges pick their winners who then went into the Best in Show competition. Herding, Non Sporting,Terrier,Sporting etc group winners. What I loved the most and admired the Best in Show judge was that he saw each breed of dog as the best of that particular breed/group. He understood how that particular dog s talents were and judged them on that! I was reminded of how I admire the principles in Cow Boy Dressage. Each breed, or combination, of horse is there to represent itself...not one look is required. The harmony between the rider and horse gets the extra score reflected in the overall ride. Yeah!
