I just have to brag about my students. They gave speeches on Oppression/Indifference and totally blew me away on how well they researched the subject and presented an argument to persuade fellow students . They spoke so well giving eye contact , tone inflections , and great body language! Some even involved their peers in their speeches for engagement . The best part is how I have classes of such diversity, but they all came together to root each other on and said things like you can do this . Wow ! If anything, Im happy that my students learned to treat one another respectably. To be able to give a ten minute speech on a persuasive subject is highly achievable for sixth grade students . I actually started crying at two of their speeches. They came up with quotes and wisdom : here is a few quotes that they said: THE TONGUE Doesnt HAVE A BONE BUT CAN BREAK A HEART! My glass house was shattered by one rock : inferring their feelings Way to go Lincoln sixth grade students !! I could never speak in front of my peers at that age ! We have some future leaders, future lawyers, politicians etc. Lincoln sixth grade made me extremely proud!! Thank you for such a successful day! Thats what teaching is all about: the kiddos ! ❤️
