I just heard a bell toll on TV in honor of Veterans Day. Youre not supposed to ask for whom the bell tolls but today, Im asking about, Knox Brown, Carl McKoy, James Kennedy, Walter Huffman, my good friend James Kents brother and others from the neighborhood, all who died in Vietnam. My brother served along with a good many of my classmates. All the death and suffering caused by people unwilling to admit a mistake. From 1968 onwards they died to satisfy the political ambitions of Richard Nixon. We left Vietnam in defeat, a broken and battered nation. We could have done the same thing in 1966, the outcome would have been no different. War is nothing but workers killing other workers while rich folks and politicians sit on the sidelines. These people that fought and died, the ones that are currently serving, deserve so much better.
