I just heard on the radio that a state senator found 30 million dollars to boost education. Where you may ask? He wants to take half the money in the road and bridges fund and put that into the education system. And guess what?...the Senate appropriations board approved it. These people are absolute morons. Heres afew ideas. 1. Use the money that was supposed to be appropriated from the lottery for education like you told us you would do and havent yet. 2. Cut the salaries of the superintendents by even half and youll add millions to the system. And while youre at it, cut half of the superintendents. 3. Go back to a one principal per school system and theres a few more million. 4. Have you seen and/or driven on our roads and bridges lately congress? We need road and bridge repair desperately all over the state. What we dont need is a bunch of politicians and their bullchit getting in the way of education and safe roads and bridges. 5. Im pretty sure that since my state and local taxes go up every year they can find a way to cut out bureaucratic fat and meaningless hand outs and tax cuts to big business to fund what we need to fund. 6. Oklahoma has some of the highest paid senators in the nation. Why not cut their salaries back to the average median salary of the state? This kind of crap makes me mad. Im really all for education and whatever can be done to help ensure our childrens educational future, but if they die in bridge collapse on the way to school, what good does that do anybody? Oklahomans drive on crappy roads everyday that need repair as well, while law makers dine in luxury with lobbyists that have agendas that have nothing to do with the general public. I feel that because politicians dont want to take money out of theirs and their big business friends pockets, and they want votes from influential organizations, they just keep digging the system deeper rather than being a person thats not afraid to stand on their own convictions and hurt some feelings for the better of the state and its residents.
