I just heard this clip on Weekend Edition Sunday: “There were a number of discussions, especially about the safety issues that our members face. There was no resolve . . . I do not see the totes resolution thread today, but this statement interested me. Might he have meant resolution, which I would think the more likely word? Or did he really mean there was a lack of resolve? It reminds me of another Verb That Would Be Noun, less ambiguous in usage, I think: And now for the big reveal. (Hmmm, the different likely verbs/physical senses might help there. One would see a curtain descend, or feel an insight—descend. But, I then experienced a reveal . . .)
