I just liked Pebble - so I suspect some of my friends (you!) may see it in your feeds. This isnt one of those bullcrap likes where Im getting a deal or the company just kept harassing me. Adam Kusch and a few other guys gifted me one of these as thanks for some games I ran for them. It went from cool to this is great to I cant survive without this watch in a very short period of time. Its hard to understand until you have one. Getting alerts on your watch - not having to pull it out of your pocket in a meeting, or in a conversation, or while driving or running - it may sound like a mild benefit but it is *huge*. You dont have to be the phone douchebag is so many situations. You receive a text or email and *bam*. There it is. On our wrist. With a mild vibrate to grab your attention. (You can set it up for other kinds of updates too). But theres more! Control your music. See a real-time update on your run distance and pace. Customize your watch face. Unlike some other watches you may have heard of lately, the Pebble doesnt try to do too much. The display is e-ink (like a Kindle) so it sips power. One charge gets you a full week (I charge mine Sunday nights). It lets your phone do most of the work, and in my experience (the iPhone) the Bluetooth link is flawless and reconnects easily after you walk away and without intervention on your part. (Ive heard the Android experience is just as good). Theres more coming. Theres an accelerometer in there for those of you who want to shake your wrist to turn on the light. Some apps are using it for fitness tracking, sleep monitoring, etc - I cant speak to it as I dont care about that stuff (and if Im totally honest, the light comes on when Im running and rips through the battery - literally my only complaint). This is the first product like Ive given on Facebook. Ive received more interest and compliments on this watch than any fashion accessory or tech gadget Ive ever had.
