I just logged in to FB and have seen two author posts about having their books pirated. The pirate legitimately purchased the book, stripped the DRM, and then returned it to Amazon -- essentially giving the author two middle fingers. I am just a humble blogger but I really do hope people heed me well. Dont do this!!! If authors keep having their books pirated, their livelihoods will be impacted, and could reduce their desire or ability to write. How would you feel if someone took something of value to you and made it available to free -- en masse? What do you get out of posting a book on a pirate site?!?! Were you not hugged enough as a child so you need the validaton of people singing your praises for bringing them stolen goods?!?! This piracy issue has gotten to pandemic proportions. Its no longer in dark, hidden corners of the internet but proudly visible on FB and other prominent websites. Its sad...and it pisses me off because I know too many good people who have been impacted because of this. Dont pirate and dont be an idiot!!! Many of those sites are encoded with harmful malware so you could be downloading more than just a book. But...good luck with that!
