I just love hearing from people who watched this piece that PBS began airing years ago. It is still being shown all around the world, and its been one of the most viewed documentaries on Netflix for some time. Though the show is about bizarre pairing of animal species in friendships, my take on the message is that animals are capable of compassion, an emotion thought to be exclusively human. Our two stories are about a blind puppy who is taken in by our deer, Amy and the most compelling story is about my blind old horse, Charley who spent years being led around by Jack, a sweet old goat. The goat understood that the horse was lost, and spent years leading him around obstacles and to food and shelter. Jack literally saved Charleys quality of life, and his dedication never wavered. I miss my friends terribly. They all lived to ripe old ages and contributed to the lives of others, which made them a relevant part of our mission here. If you havent seen it, give it a watch. I was supposed to help present the show from New York, but my intense fear of flying got the best of me and I believe the primate footage was my fill in. I will climb in a cage with an angry cougar and stuff her in a carrier, but I wont get on an airplane, and here is proof that a monkey can cover for me. :) Anyway, ENJOY!
