I just mentioned this on another comment, but thought Id post something here too. Anyone who knows me, knows that Im ridiculously BAD in a crisis. My anxiety takes over and I just cannot pull it together. For the most part, I did well in front of the kids, but they really did well for ME. I cannot believe how incredibly brave and well-behaved they were in the midst of chaos. When we got them all into the cafeteria, one of the girls in my class saw me and waved. She just needed someone to give her a little wave back - a little sign of comfort. And I stood there thinking that the kids were so brave with a huge fire raging all around us, I had to be more composed for them. But my husband was stuck at the school directly behind the fire, and I had to leave to go get him. I couldnt pull it together because I was so worried about him. But the kids? They did so great. So, so great.
