I just noticed the 25th Anniversary of the first day of this walk was the 12th of March. We didnt even celebrate. No wonder the peace movement is so disjointed (and I dont mean they have no joints). This is one of millions of efforts by billions of people that no one remembers. Films, art, walks, protests, arrests, senate committees, ex nuclear people, Ralph Nadar, the list is endless but they are mostly silenced and dismissed. Consequently each and every event is the beginning! Each and every person who becomes aware believes they are alone and it is a new discovery. Billions of people have protested nuclear for 70 years. Our media does not publish that information in deference to the nuclear cabal. We do not teach the most massive continuous human global resistance to anything ever in our world history classes. 25 years ago my family and friends and I walked across Canada to end the uranium mining in Northern Saskatchewan and we (me and my family) dont even celebrate the occasion. This is why new anti nuclear folks say wake up. We are awake, we are being silenced by the media. There are reminders of amazing events in the media if they are not being intentionally suppressed. Fukushima is a global disaster no matter how you look at it. We could lose the and for sure a million more people will die of cancers caused by radiation. Either way it is time to take another look yet we are silenced at almost ever turn and our true history suppressed. The Uranium Film Festival people started it so they could A: Introduce the issues of Uranium and therefore all nuclear to the world and B: To create an archive of nuclear information. To date the people from Propagandas Promise have not submitted their film. Happy 25th Anniversary to the Walk for World Survival bunch and the hosts across the country and especially to the children who walked each day and laughed and helped and spent their spring and summer trying to save the world.
