I just now discovered the English-subtitled episodes of the Icelandic comedy series “The Night Shift” (Næturvaktin in Icelandic) which were shown on the BBC in the UK in 2011. The Night Shift debuted in Iceland in 2007 and has been described as being a cross between “The Office” and “Fawlty Towers”. It is set in a Shell gas station in Reykjavik and revolves around three misfits who work the night shift there. It stars Jon Gnarr (then future, now former, mayor of Reykjavik) as an officious, clueless, arrogant and bullying boss. It is darkly funny. Here is episode 1. You can find the rest on YouTube.
