I just posted this on my PersonaGrip & The Steering Wheel Guy page. Wing design is where steering wheel hand grip designers can unwittingly cause their drivers the exact opposite of their intended result: mental transparency. For a driver to feel completely comfortable dancing on the edges of the Friction Circle -- the top of the mu-slip curve -- s/he cant be distracted by the object in their hands. Instead, if they can visualize their right hand as the right-front tire, and their left hand as the left-front tire, they can visualize themselves clawing their way around the racetrack with 100% sub-conscious competency. If the top wings are improperly designed, blisters can happen due to pressure points, and fingers can break during kickback. So, in this short clip, I discuss how to avoid these issues, so drivers can use the safest wheel possible and get the most out of their cars. youtu.be/_SHSSx-anAI
