I just posted this over at the Concerned Citizens of Altoona Vote NO Against Home Rule Charter site at FB... as Eric Wills done earlier... I think that they are scrubbing the contents off... well, free speech for thee but not for me and all that. ***************************************** Never take counsel from your Fears. That statement has been wisdom for thousands of years. So, we vote NO... OK... So what is YOUR plan to help the City get more viable and have a long-term solid financial future? Because if you do not have an alternate idea then this whole site is just dedicated to whining. NOTE: I was called to testify by the Altoona Home Rule Study Commission, Dave Duncans Page -- twice and I did so... they did not act upon my input (nor was I selected for the Commission by the voters)... that being said the Commission put in long hours and did great work... which saw at the meeting I attended... and I will vote YES for more flexibility and more authority local... I will VOTE YES to take power away from Harrisburg and giving it to our local citizens... I WILL VOTE YES because I Live here, my SON lives here, and my Grandsons live here in this wonderful City that has been plagued for too long with: We have never done that before. That is TOOOO Much change. I dont have a solution -- but I dont like yours. NO, I havent been to any of these meetings. No, I havent read the report. NO, I will not listen to people that have been there and have done the work... but I FEEL we should not change... Well, enough of Ignorance = opinion. I want Altoona to do more the survive... I want Altoona to THRIVE... and I WILL VOTE YES! So to all the people that Joined this Page... How many meetings did YOU attend? Have YOU read the whole charter? What is YOUR solution? What part of having an advocate for the City that can go to Harrisburg and DC and get the ear of our representatives do YOU not like? What part of having a spokesman that can sell the City and wonderful virtues to prospective businesses do YOU not like? How many of YOU actually live in the City? Comments? Questions? Concerns? What do YOU think, Eric Wills, Dave Butterbaugh, Matt Cacciotti, Matthew Pacifico, Erik Cagle ????
