I just read a bout a 13 year old boy who has such a rare form of cancer, that only 350 cases are diagnosed in the US per year! He lives in Orange County. When his school found out about this diagnosis, they made a banner that simply stated "Pray for Cole". The next day it was missing. Someone was offended. The next day, the students, teachers and their principal, stuck styrofoam cups in the fence that spelled out the same message. The same thing happened - the next day they were gone. A woman who lived across the street from the school made a banner that stated the same thing, and strung it up in her yard between trees, where it remained for the balance of the school year. The school, neighbors, family and friends have held fundraiser after fundraiser to help as much as they can to help offset the over $1M in treatments he has received to date. This young man has a 50/50 chance of beating the beast. He has undergone 13 rounds of chemo and his tumor, which runs almost the entire length of his body, has shrunk by 1/2. On Friday, he will be operated on by surgeons in NYC at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital. When asked by the reporter what could be done, his mother replied "Pray for Cole" - it is all we can do. Please pray for Cole and also for his surgeons. It is after all, all we can do. Thank you.
