I just read a comment on Quinte News on the Council Candidate Apologizes for Plagiarism page from a Mr Leave Bob Alone where he makes accusations at me so I had to respond. Mr. Leave said I also hope Michael Rutland is proud of himself for bullying a good man and jeopardizing his campaign. My response: Michael Rutland says: I had no intention of commenting on this article until mr “Leave Bob Alone” Accused me of “bullying a good man and jeopardizing his campaign.” I simply gave every candidate an opportunity to state their position as it pertained to the arts. Mr Millard responded, I published his response. Someone realized part of his response was copied from a report. This was as a comment on Millard’s post I did not publish this. Mr Millard realized he had been caught Plagiarizing and wrote an apology. I did not publish this either it was a comment. Millard apologized for not giving credit. I read both his letter and the original 2013 report both available on the FB group Concerned Artists of Belleville, which I suggest everyone read and make up your own mind. It was clear to me the passages he lifted and in some cases added words, to make it better integrate with his report and the fact that there were no quotation marks around the passages as well as no credit I concluded there was no “over site” as you will, if beforer you spout off, you look at the evidence. Therefore I did not accept the apology as it was not credible, that is all I did. “Good men” do not blatantly… Michael Rutland says: Plagiarize was the last word in my last comment which was cut off. Further Mr Leave please give me you name so I can consider my options. A slander suit is one Please also do your research before making accusation “I also hope Michael Rutland is proud of himself for bullying a good man and jeopardizing his campaign.” There is no bullying. The Quinte News took the information (with my permission) from the FB Group page. Accusation without evidence Mr Leave is serious. I was willing to leave this alone but you leave me no choice. I must now present what was written by Millard the report he plagiarized and the evidence to show where he altered it. Congratulations Mr Leave you just put the nail in the coffin. Call Bob tell him your sorry.
