I just read a very snarky comment about lazy State employees. The man added further that in his opinion, every single one should be fired & made to reapply for their jobs. I private messaged him the following: I saw your comment & I want you to know that I was a very hard working State employee who did surveillance for 26 infectious diseases. I understand your frustration, but not every State employee is lazy & worthless. I have been an RN for 35+ years & I have worked in different medical settings. I worked very hard while working for the State of RI as I am sure that you do in your job and I was very proud to do the job that I did. I am not trying to start an argument, but I just wanted to tell you that. Thx. It bothers me when people bash State employees because I worked side by side with so many State Employees who worked very hard every day. Were there some people who did not perform up to snuf? Of course, but you find these people in every job setting. For the most part, folks who I worked with worked very hard on a daily basis.
