I just read an important article in the New York Times on sugar. Many of you may know that I used to be powerless to sugar. Since becoming a Holistic Health Coach and a Plexus Ambassador, my addiction to sugar has decreased measurably. But I am human. I have good days and bad days. The latter is often induced by stress and grief. Id be lying if I told you that a whoopie pie or a cupcake didnt get me excited (they do)! You probably dont have time to read this entire article, so Im including the most important thing you can do to overcome sugar addiction, which is critical if you want to improve your health. Substituting whole foods for sweet industrial concoctions may be a hard sell, but in the face of an industry that is exploiting our biological nature to keep us addicted, it may be the best solution for those who need that sugar fix. - James J. DiNicolantonio, Cardiovascular Research Scientist at Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute Eat real whole foods that dont have labels. If you struggle with sweets like I did, substitute better options made with real ingredients (like my healthy cinnamon apple crisp or healthy peppermint hot chocolate, recipes on my blog at kimwilsonpollock). Reduce eating out and cook more at home. Dump soda and diet soda. Drink more water. And most importantly: make changes in your life that are creating the imbalances that cause you to crave and want sugary foods. Need help?
