I just read this Rush Limbaugh quote in one of the articles about Colbert, and I partially agree with it: “Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women access to the mainstream of society.”- Rush Limbaugh Now, Feminism also means that attractive women can access the mainstream of society for reasons other than their looks, and lots of other things to other people. But I was raised to believe that unattractive women truly had no value. Im not saying I wouldnt like to wake up and be a knockout. But I hate the process of pursuing attractiveness about as much as I hate housework or eating sea urchin or listening to jam bands, and so every time I tried to pursue it, I was miserable. So, thank you feminism, for letting us have access to mainstream society regardless of what we look like!
