I just read this today and wow does it hit home! From the book - Absent Fathers, Lost Sons by Guy Corneau A man is not a man until he has accessed his raw untamed energy and taking pleasure in his capacity to fight and defend himself. Only then can he transform his blind rage into the power to commit himself, to handle tensions and make difficult decisions, a feeling of inner security also develops. It is based on his realisation that whatever happens to go wrong he can get help from his inner resources, from the basic energy of his aggression. As a absent father at this present time I have now gone through 12 months of growing & suffering, Its been like a roller coaster going up and down! A fight with myself which has transformed who I am. When I tap into this energy and be present with it in my mind and heart space it can grow incredibly strong! The power I feel is relentless, its a surge of energy that consumes my whole body with certainty in knowing I can do what has to be done, a fight that I see as won! The more I tap into the power my son and the mother of my child have given me, the more momentum builds, slowly but surely by taking action upon actions towards the vision I have created! I feel that inner security and I know the resources are within me from my life experiences, the coaching hours Ive done, the books Ive read, and learning from the giants who have walked before me who have left evidence in their tracks for me to follow. I have everything with in me already! As painful as the journey has been, I am so grateful and blessed to be have been given this gift that has allowed me to change and continue flourishing towards being a present father and a role model of excellence!
