I just realized I never posted this video and , to me, its a MUST SEE! Wonder why? Several reasons..... First of all, this was a moment that Shannon and Bella had worked hard for all season and held out hope it would happen, but didnt PLAN or EXPECT IT! She NEVER GAVE UP...... Trying, hoping or working for it and was ok if it didnt happen because what mattered was the effort and accomplishments she and Bella shared. It was the memories and friends she made along the way and most importantly it was the bond that grows greater each and everyday between this woman and her dog...... Its nothing short of immeasurable! Secondly, what I want you to notice are the people cheering and hugging Shannon in the video, the ones that embrace her like family and are genuinely excited and all came to gather around her after she and Bella placed 2nd and earned their World invite..... These people were NOT long time friends, these were people we had JUST MET THAT WEEKEND! They are HEART OF TEXAS DOCKDOGS PEOPLE and they couldnt have made this moment more special! Some in this video were even in the SAME FINALS with Shannon and didnt get and invite but it didnt stop the from celebrating with us and wishing her congratulations, it was truly amazing! Lastly, I show this video because if there is ever an example of NEVER GIVE UP spirit, its Shannon. We have traveled all over this season and there is always the hope and goal for a worlds Invite but each time it would literally come down to an inch or one placement standing between this team and worlds. Shannon would always get off that dock and congratulate her fellow competitions, hug Bella and look ahead at how to be better for her partner on the dock. She focused on the good, the memories and friendships made and didnt make it about the invite, but the journey, and that what paid off in all ways! THIS IS WHAT DOCKDOGS IS ABOUT, what sportsmanship and competing is about, and what the NEVER GIVE UP spirit is about! How can you watch this video and not see how amazing this moment was in every way???!!! Congratulations to my best friend and Team MYTDOG PARTNER on an amazing season (Im so happy for you and proud of your journey and success..... The kind thats measured and the kind that has been immeasurable! Thank you to all our friends (new and old) and please remember, without your dog there is no DOCKDOGS so dont make it about YOU, its so much greater than that! (I apologize that I may not have tagged everyone in this video, please feel free to tag yourself or your friends...... You have all been a part of a truly unforgettable and amazing journey!).
