Here they are: 2014 Christmas Art Showcase Spotlight #4 Linda Curley Christiansen Born in Idaho in 1956, reared in Salt Lake City, Utah, Linda started painting when her family was young. She has received substantial attention in recent years in being privileged to paint for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at their Conference Center, South Visitor’s Center, and Temples throughout the world, as well as heading a mural team. Linda, a very prolific artist herself has found a new love in mentoring other artists. Recognitions include the National Gertrude Folgeson Art Award, signature status in Oil Painters of America, and she was named one of Utah’s top 100 Artists. She won the title of 2011 World Champion Oil Painter by W.A.R.A. She received an Honorary Doctorate of Fine Art from the Utah Valley University in the spring of 2012. She serves her fellow artists as the current President of the Inspirational Art Association. She is also the founder of Intermountain Arts Center and past president of Intermountain Society of Artists. Linda currently lives near Prickly Rocks Studio in Wallsburg, Utah with her family and husband Greg. Linda considers the ability to search for and find beauty all around a rare jewel gained from her years of painting.
