I just received a phone call from Betsy Hohlman, Customer - TopicsExpress

I just received a phone call from Betsy Hohlman, Customer Relations Specialist at BMW North America. She was calling to inform me that BMW is not taking responsibility for the deployment of my airbags; however, BMW will offer me $500 towards my repairs as a...get this...COURTESY! After Ms. Hohlman very adamantly stated that I hit something that caused my airbags to deploy, she quickly ended our conversation and told me that she would notify the dealership that shed spoken with me. I told her I would not argue with her, but I did give her the (ahem) courtesy of letting her know I was planning to go to the media - and not just social media - on this issue. Yes, there was a spare tire on the vehicle when I took it to the dealership and the main tire was in the trunk. Even still, the tire was on flat because it was simply time for new tires. There was no damage to the rim; no indication that there was a blowout. As a matter of fact, the very FIRST then I did when I got out of the vehicle was checked to see if there was a blowout. Nope. Not only that, my vehicle was driven - not towed - to my residence from the spot where the airbags deployed. BMW is trying to use the fact that the spare tire was on the vehicle when I took it in for inspection, but a flat tire is a flat tire. A deployed airbag is a deployed airbag. Oh! And did I mention that Ms. Hohlman said my car is not included in the recall? Thats right; my 2003 BMW 330i is not included in the recall of BMW 3 Series vehicles manufactured between mid-1999 and mid-2006. Hmmm...and just ironically, the recall is airbag-related. But my car is not included in the recall? Am I to assume that the recall only applies to vehicles that have airbags that have NOT yet deployed? #GoingToTheMediaWithMicTurnedUpToTen #WeWillSeeHowItPlaysOut $500MyAzz
