I just received in the mail, a very nice pair of gardening gloves from the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS)..and a form for a donation. I immediately filled it out with this message: I appreciate the lovely gardening gloves but WHY ARENT YOU SPENDING THIS ON THE ANIMALS...I do support, regularly, the ASPCA. I also receive occasional requests for an additional donation..but no gifts. The money is spent on the animals, their shelter, their health care, their placement and their staff that go out daily and rescue these precious animals from some of the worst circumstances. The ASPCA is very deserving of the help and while unfortunately not all animals can be saved, they do their best to save and place the majority.
