I just received the copy of the detective magazine chronicling the infamous Marshall Co. murder of Isabel Butchko. In the article Glen Dale Police Chief Ken Pickett was mentioned briefly. Also mentioned prominently was the chief investigator for the WV State Police Sgt. Hamrick also of Glen Dale. (He used to substitute teach algebra after he retired and I had him in class a couple of times.) Frankly it didnt reveal much of anything that I hadnt already heard years and years ago. Thus far the killer has never been apprehended or a suspect named. In eight pages the writer referred to Isabel as a spinster well over 10 times. Whats up with that? At least it had a photo of her for which I am grateful. I had always wondered what she looked like. I will be scanning and posting the article in sections as I get time. PS - The writer also referred to the local high school Moundsville Trojans as wearing the colors gold and black.
