I just received these photos a couple of days ago from View. I hadnt seen them before, and as I have no memory prior to coming out of the coma I was glad to see them. As I look at them I recall my feelings, etc. during the time. A lot of fear, confusions, etc. But I also remember going to Views shop a few days after being released from the hospital. View was not there but I saw Moe. Moe is the Burmese immigrant who works for View. Moe and I became good friends and I always love seeing her. She doesnt speak English (and according to View her thai isnt that great either, lol) but she learns extremely quickly and ive taught her just a little. When I saw her I said whats up Moe?, she replied nuh ting much. She then asked me Pateek, ok? and gestured with both hands that she was referring to my body. I told her I was ok. I asked her Moe, how View know I in hospital? as I remembered she was there when I awoke in the hospital. Moe replied Lady come to shop, come inside and say about you. I asked her who the lady was. She replied that she didnt know her. I asked if it was a thai lady. She said yes and that she had never seen her before. I asked her what View did then. She said View not here when lady come, View at market. She said that she had to call View and tell her. She said that as soon as she reached View, View went straight to the hospital. I said what did you say to View on the phone Moe?, she replied I tell her, Pateek very very dangerous! (which I took to mean I was in bad danger) I think a lot about how I felt at the moment of the pictures, but what I dont think a lot about is how View must have felt upon seeing me like this when she arrived at the hospital. Im not sure what day she got there in my coma, but to see me this way, non-responsive, etc. must have been scary for her. Literally, I couldnt have made it without her, and I can never repay all that she has done to not only keep me alive, but keep me well and get me back to the USA. One day I hope to show her all of my appreciation appropriately. Thank you View.
