I just received these photos from a friend in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, a city exactly 12 hours ahead of Oakwoods in time. As lovely as they are, and as thoughtful as the gift was, world events have crowded out the distinct pleasure of friendships, of farming, the beauty of nature and a life outdoors in recent days. For the first time in memory, I am caught between people/friends engaged in three wars. World and regional leaders are talking about spheres of influence, the establishment of theocracies, and, worse, the very right to live and be. As always, the innocent, particularly the young and innocent, children, are dying because of the faults and actions of those older and supposedly wiser. Along with all the grandeur, its all part of our nature and our world. As my dad used to say, You have to take the good with the bad, do what you can to make it better, and dont fret about it too much.
