I just recieved a referral for a man who has been trying to connect with mental health services in Clarion County since January. He has called other agencies in the area and is in dire need of mental health counseling and psychiatry services. He has not received one single ounce of hope for his plight. An advocate finally stumbled upon FTS, Inc. and we are able to help, as we are able to and diligently try to help every single person that reaches out to us. Its heartbreaking that this 57 year old man has suffered with his illness for months and could not be linked to an appropriate service, and equally heartbreaking that the one service who has finally brought light to the end of his tunnel was so inaccessible through resource directories made by Clarion County Mental Health Administration. When he attempted to reach any office through CCMH administration he was sent though a maze of menus and answering machines and not one human made an effort to return his call or assist him in finding the appropriate service. There are thousands in serious need of mental heath care. Step it up, Clarion County. Im grateful for the agency I am a part of and its dedicated staff, as well as our willingness and ability to serve those in need. If you know of ANYONE in Clarion or Jefferson county in need of counseling or psychiatry services, please tell them about us. We are here and we absolutely can help. Even if we arent the right service, we will try very hard to offer you advice and direction to the service that will best meet your needs.
