I just recommended this to someone. I use the largest one they sell and turn the heater on when it gets cold for strays to use in the wet and cold! I bought the largest one, the cushion pad that goes inside, a door (they now have a clear flap which is good for cats. They need to see out) and MOST importantly the safety heated fleece pad! It is made for outdoor use with a safety no chew cord (I use a big outdoor utility cord to reach the back porch outlet) and the heat only comes on to a safe temp when an animal is on it. Mine fits up to 7 cats or a large dog. This particular kind is the best because of the water proof insulating bottom which keep it warmer and up off the wet ground so water cannot get in! Every animal lover should have one for the strays in the neighborhood during winter! Put it in a safe place (Mine is in the backyard under a big bush that has become a favorite spot for all manner of creatures to shelter in! Last year it was used by Momma Kitty and her FAT squirrel friend! Yep, they ate together-birdfeed that we piled in the birdbath! I have a pond with waterlillies so they use that for water! I put out dry food for the strays too. I only do that in winter and then once it gets warm, I only do it now and then so the stray learns to hunt!
