I just returned from celebration of St. Savas day (Savindan), the national holiday of Serbs in FYROM (27-I-2015, 19.00-21.00 h.). The event, held in national theater in Skopje, was visited by selected people from what is the wealthiest and most educated ethnic group in FYROM gave concessions to the state (usage of its own name, flag as well as opening statement by Minister of Interior (!) Gordana Jankulovska). Unlike other times, this times politicians did not took place on the podium. After reading of congratulatory statements by Presidents of Republika Srpska and Republic of Serbia, Milorad Dodik and Tomislav Nikolić, the moderated event featured theatrical narrative, recitals of poetry, Greek and Old Church Slavic hymns as well as performance by a folklore ensemble from Kosovo and Metohija. The fact is that a disappointingly small fraction of Serbs use their language. To a great measure, this was certainly not any idealistic event, it was mostly an opportunity for cronies to met each other.
