I just returned from my last course of 2014 and I must say it was one of THE BEST courses I have ever experienced! Host Dennis Schreiner, his wife, brothers and sons put on an exceptional program and I cannot thank them enough. Dennis sons, both in the military (one a Marine at Quantico the other a Sailor at Annapolis) drove home for the weekend to help out. You cannot ask for anymore than that! The weather bordered on brutal with over cast skies, a strong side wind that ripped across the range and a temperature in the high 30s, but every student in the class drove on without complaint!! What was really amazing was the improvement the student base made. Concealed Pistol is a stand alone, basic level course for the person who just got their CCW permit, so the skill level was on the lower side at the start, but this was certainly not the case at the end!! While I would like to take credit (we instructors always do!) it was really the tenacity of the student base. The class of 14 broke into two relays of seven which allowed me to give a lot of individual instruction (seen the in video) which is something I really like to do! This class was a truly exceptional experience! Of course, it was nice to retire from the range, put the guns away and enjoy Dennis hand rolled cigars and select bourbons!! It was a great year!
