I just returned from the FIRST COMFORT CONCERT held this afternoon @ London Playing Field @ Sandy Bay, a Joint Cultural Enterprise with the Royal St.Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (Band) and the WHO IS WHO of the Entertainment world of SVG. I was moved to tears.....The Stage Appearances and Performances were truly outstanding. The opening notes came from the Sandy Bay Gospel Chapel -Worship Team led by the Youth Pastor Winston Lavia and then the Point Massive, followed by the RSVGPF Band rendition of YOU RAISE ME UP; OWIA Police Youth Club, the SANDY BAY Youth Club and the New Dimensions Steel Orchestras (of Lowmans windward), up came JEWEL CORDICE belting out one of the Comfort Concert themes in song YOU RAISED ME UP followed by Saxophonist Dexter Bacchus, Pianoist Curtis Williams and Police recruit Trumpeter Squires presentations ......all well received.. The TEMPO changed as Junior pannist SAEED BOWMAN held the audiences rapt attention through 4 pieces including Rasums PERSEVERANCE , another Concert THEME...BRO.EBONY provided Vintage Vincy Kaiso...rendering his Award winning Calypso Nothing at All....National Youth Poet ADRIAN WRIGHT rapped his winning RapnPoetry piece--My Country 2025 Our Cuban guest, Flautist ANALEE RODRIGUEZ suitably took on Vincy Folk Songs and had the folks clapping as she played. URBAN EXPRESSIONS gave a surprise performance and the crowd shouted approval, from the solo piece by premier Male Dancer BARTHOLOMEW to its quartets acapella gospel song.. The celebrated STEEL EXPRESSIONs THE GRADUATE RODNEY SMALL and his Ultimate Band every piece had the crowd moving, closing their appearance with Everybody sing Praise Renown Vincentian Poet BLAZER WILLIAMS recited his poem entitled TOMAS.. The people listened intently.. Time came for Dance from a Georgetown All Girl Dance Group C.I.D, young in the business, but loved the stage.. Former calypso Monarch IPA sang his signature songTHE FAMILY. This segment ended with National Dance Champions LA GRACIA DANCE CO skillfully and beautifully executing their interpretation of the THEME YOU RAISE ME UP leaving Sandy Bay spellbound!! More BIG GUNS grabbed time leading off with Mespos RADIANT DIYA singing A Change is goona Come adding a Judy Boucher staple... Home-boy former National Calypso Monarch TAHJOE took the stage with 3 pieces to great applause; next came BOMANI -This Country is my Home-Yurumei looking smart in white...The evening rounded off with the SOCA DANS-LUTA fresh from winning Nine Mornings most popular song ROAST PORK, Birthday SOCA DIVA - SHAUNELLE MCKENZIE AND HIS EXCELLENCY CULTURAL AMBASSADOR DELROY FIREMAN HOOPER AND THE ROYAL ST.VINCENT AND THE POLICE FORCE BAND entertaining the huge crowd with their hit songs They even allowed me to shake-a-leg and dance a jig with FIRE. IT WAS WONDERFUL EVENING- BRINGING CHEER AND COMFORT TO THE PEOPLE IN THE NORTH EAST....THEY LOVED IT!!!!!!!
