I just saw an example of advocating for sensitive language use that I really adore. So many people on the net try to inform others about their language by giving what amounts to a lecture and it usually escalates (see TED video about how to talk about race). The example I just saw was stated in I language not you language. I try to avoid using ______ (a specific word) in a show of respect for ______ (group of people). instead of you really should not say ______ because it is offensive. I wont reference any exact thing Ive read, but I really appreciated the tone of what I just read much more than any other conversation Ive seen in a while and I learned something new that solves a big dilemma for me.
