I just saw on Facebook that one of my family friends, Brian Moore, passed away earlier today. He was such a great guy and my heart goes out to Eric Moore and the rest of the Moore family. I could tell a lot of stories about what a great guy he was, but one of the things that exemplified his life was that he was always sending me encouraging notes about my mothers health issues, even as ALS was slowly robbing him of his life. I was especially touched by his notes because even typing was incredibly difficult for him as he approached the finish line. Furthermore, I was amazed because he always seemed upbeat and never committed the sin of despair, although he would frequently reminisce about happier times. In fact, he made me think of a line from the eulogy of Woody Hayes, In the twilight of his life, Woody Hayes could look back and see that the day had indeed been splendid. I think the same could be said for Brian. The world needs more people like Brian Moore. Rest in peace, my friend.
