I just seen a discussion on another board about why would people go through the trouble of salting a site. Definition for salting intentionally planting fake arrowheads on someone else to find. reason to either make them look good when they find something or to just defame someone else. I have personally had this happen to me. It was done by who I thought was a good friend. and lot of arrowhead collectors know this guy and some of them know how full of b.s. he is to. since this site is a show and tell. I figured I would show and tell how I came across this pine tree. I found a place I was able to dig so decided to take my friend with me. after about 4 hours of digging my friend had doen found a nice 5 inch t-drill and three big massive turkey tails. I was starting to get a little discouraged not find anything or even a broke piece. well decided to step out fo my shelter and get me a smoke and a mountain dew. well stepped back in the shelter to go back to digging and after my first pick full of dirt bam there it was.one of the best pinetrees I had ever found or seen. I kept it for a while but notice had a few people interested in it. so I decided I couldnt eat the rock and needed a few bills to get paid. I had the arrowhead sold for $1500 bucks. I stand behind all my artifacts if I decide to sale anything. so we agreed upon no money exchanged till we got the paper work. then behold the kill paper was revieved. Stating modern grinding no true patina oil soaked with high spots removed from a dermal or sand paper. grinding was straight line serrations. so people always be be knowledgable of thing you find. not everyone is honest about everything. so keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
