I just sent an email to a few City representatives, BARC and others: Hello all, For those of you in the TO line we residents in Meadowcreek Village need your help and guidance. We have many elderly residents, residents with young children here who are afraid to walk any distance around their own property. I live on Allendale Rd and I see packs of dogs roaming the streets. In fact, the dogs are streetwise as they canter down the sidewalk avoiding the busy auto traffic. I have also have been in my vehicle and swerved (within reason) to avoid hitting any dog. I have been chased by dogs while riding my bicycle. I would like to know how the residents of Meadowcreek Village can help I have just read the information in the HEALTHY PETS HEALTHY STREETS website and I would like to know how Meadowcreek Village can be involved to curtail this canine situation. From the site: In the Heathy Pets, Healthy Streets site is this tidbit of information: We’re calling it the “Healthy Pets, Healthy Streets” beachhead initiative as we are targeting specific neighborhoods with a large number of stray animal and dog bite complaints, and we plan to return to the neighborhood with the services until the problem is vastly reduced and hopefully eliminated. Then we plan to move to a new neighborhood and repeat the process. Also, We began the pilot effort for this initiative in a Near Northside neighborhood in July 2013. Any one of you are welcomed to come to our monthly meetings to talk about this situation. Meeting time and place: 2nd Thursday of each month, next meeting Jan 8, 6:30 pm. Meadowcreek Village Community Center, 5333 Berry Creek Drive, Houston, TX 77017.
