I just sent an invitation to my entire list of facebook contacts to the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science. There are nearly a million likers of this page and Ive seen it rising steadily over the months. There should be many more! What made me do that? Well, a realisation following some interaction with some Jehovahs Witnesses friends, that I have had the wonderful pleasure of a series of bewildering reports on what is going on in the world of scientific development. It is nothing short of amazing. Theres a massive legion of people all over the world contributing to a huge and rapidly increasing bank of knowledge. Its better to know than believe. And while we as individuals cant know everything, what we can do is follow a trail of prior research to establish knowledge, if we want to. Holding a single volume of text from a long gone era (Bible, Koran, Bhagavad Gita, Torah, Book of Mormon, Ramayana etc.) and using it as your reference is frankly stupid. But using it as a reference that you force onto your children is negligent at best. If you dont like me saying this then you have to leave my list of contacts, but before you do, please do the like thing on The Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science to at least expose yourself to ideas outside your frame of reference. Thats it. My rant urge fully exercised for now ... Take care all.
