I just stumbled into very curious discussion on my polish group about getting more data will be more and more imporant vs visualising data (like visual facilitation) is just a fleeting trend that in 20 years will be forgotten and just a curiosity like art is. It goes (roughly) like this: Why mathematicians are so openly welcomed everywhere? Because a new era has begun. In the past intuition and experience was things we were standing on, but the game has changed and data is the key. The one who has data and can squeeze the most information out of it, will have power and wealth. --- Can u guys back me up by pointing me to hard data disproving his claim that viz thinking is just a passing that will be forgotten in 20 years? This is the stuff i have to fight against in poland on top of ppl rarely knowing about viz thinking benefits.
