I just unfollowed Brian McLaren. Not sure why I was still following him to be honest, as Im more than tired of Christian fence-sitting and apology cloaked in third way terminology that merely keeps the conversation open for the sake of those most likely to float apathetically around actual concrete conviction. Im more than tired of Christian attempts to bow to the whims of every opinion possible on every topic, as if situations of injustice are merely a set of options from which we can choose a side to debate from, or just accept them all as valid because we cant be bothered to do any serious thinking about human inequalities of oppression and privilege, and everyone just needs love. To continually write the message that every ethical choice is equally open to human beings is to be neutral in the face of injustice. And thats not Christianity, its privilege. Where did you read that Jesus welcomed every opinion as valid?
