I just walked by a student film in the process of being filmed by a giant fountain, two characters talking. 1) Their bounce boards were using the wrong side. 2) They werent slating. 3) The people behind the actors onscreen werent paid extras, they were just people living their life and not staying in the same place shot to shot. Nightmare for editing. 4) They tried capturing audio next to a giant freaking fountain that sounds like youre next to a steam engine, so theyll have to dub it anyways. I could tell the guy running it was flustered. My first instinct was to go over and tell them what they were doing wrong. I opted not to cause thatd be rude, not my place, and every film person needs a day where nothing goes right. You only get the good days by knowing what a bad day feels like. At least he took the lens cap off
