I just walked through a very loving and heart warming week-end....Saturday, Nov 8th was my 74th birthday...loving greetings for that day began to come on Friday through fb publicly and privately, phone calls and so many cards....never before in all my years was my heart moved as it was this wkend...over 60 postings (I quit counting and yet they are still coming today). It is unbelievable; posts came from Alaska, India, Grt Britain, & of course, good ol USA; people I hadnt heard from in yrs; old school mates, college friends, teachers, family and most important, people with whom I have shared the fellowship of Jesus Christ, my church family. I share this not to highlight anything about me to remind us all the value in friendships and the significance of small heart to heart remembrances. Lifestyles in this country has diminished somewhat that closeness so necessary between family and friends. To those of you who so kindly remembered my birthday, please know you reminded me afresh of the value, joy and life extending blessings that come when we take the time to express the valuable importance of sharing in lifes special days with each other. Family and friends are never to be forgotten. The greatest birthday gift I received this year has been the expressions of birthday blessings from my family and friends. God bless you all for such kindness. You took time out of your life to overwhelmingly warm the heart of another. Acts like that will bring returned blessing! I feel as young today as I did when I was thirty...your kindnesses sparked even more the youth in my heart with which I will continue to serve Jesus Christ. He is your best friend....give Him reminders of your love and interest in His life!! May God richly bless you all....Thank you so very much....by the way, my wife in her love and kindness surpassed all that came my way!!!!
