I just want to bring awareness to something that has been happening lately. Just happened at Los alamos park tonight with someone who is a nice person. A child followed someone around the park for a while. (He had his two children with him as well.) The child was about 2 years old and no parents in sight. The man and some others were trying to find the parents. (They called the police in the meantime.) They ended up finding a grandma in the car. She didnt speak English so she was having a young girl speak for her. Basically saying that that if they didnt give her money she would all the police and say the boy was kidnapped by them. The police were called and told all of this and a detective said this is happening more and more often. It has recently started in the area, but has been going on in a different county. Needless to say, this woman was caught and CPS and INS were called, but please be aware of ridiculous scams. Even involving children. The detective advised that if you come across a lost child, do not make physical contact and call 911. Its absolutely sickening and absurd that this is even possible, but its real. Hopefully this doesnt happen to anyone else, but just be aware and take precautions. Have witnesses if you decide to try and find the family on your own. But best advice is to call 911 as they are trained in situations with reuniting families. Scam or not. (TAKEN FROM WILDOMAR PAGE)
