I just want to give an update on Andy and Bella after their exposure to garlic. They still show no signs or symptoms of anemia. The original agreement when leaving Veterinary Emergency Center in Canton, CT was that I return home and contact my new local Vet, Bee Tree in Sharon, CT to schedule follow up CBCs or PCVs to check for anemia. Canton gave medication, checked Andy and Bellas blood for any sign of anemia which was negative but were unable to get IVs in either cat. We agreed that it was safe to monitor them at home until Bee Tree opened. It was also a cost difference of $550 verses up to $1400 to keep them in Canton until 8 am sitting in a cage. Bee Tree (where the records were faxed) was closed yesterday but left a message on Dr. Waldos cell to contact me if she felt they needed testing immediately despite not showing signs. I just got off the phone with her and she was extremely cold. She contacted Veterinary Emergency Center who lied and said I left 4 hours early against medical advice so Bee Tree refuses to even do simple blood levels. Im outraged beyond belief!!! The positive message I did receive was from Andys Neurologists office who told me not to worry unless either cat shows any anemic symptoms. In that case, Ill immediately contact my old Vet to have levels checked. Im so angry right now!!!!
