I just want to make a point.... So here we are 3 years and one month down the line since being diagnosed with MND. In that time I have or have been the inspiration for £50,000 being raised for the MNDA by wonderful family, colleagues and friends. The Ice Bucket Challenge has raised in excess of £8m and there are approximately 5,000 sufferers in the UK at any one time, so you do the math. So please tell me, when I apply for a grant towards a special mobility vehicle to have spontaneity and to help with my quality of life with my family, that I am only granted £1000 towards it. We have had to pay £3,600 of our own money. I am not being greedy or ungrateful but I will ask you all, that if you choose to raise money for charity in my name that you do it for Dove Cottage Day Hospice who have looked after me so well.
