I just want to share how thankful and proud I am for and of the Victoria Police Department. I have heard numerous times in my college classes, at the store, restaurants, and maybe a public restroom or two, Facebook and in our newspaper how "worthless our officers are." Complaint, complain, complaining, complained. Until you have rode around with a police officer for an entire 12 hours, packed a lunch for one, fallen asleep listening to a starving stomach because it has been almost a day since one has eaten, spend a holiday alone, hold them tight because of the things they have seen, congratulate them on a job well done, picked their uniforms up from dry cleaning, eaten dinner alone, had your lunch interrupted, millisecond kisses, spent endless nights alone, wipe their tears, or had to bury one then please remain silent. This town is a battleground, not a walk in the park for people with badges. The officer you are bad mouthing is trained to protect your life and would jump in front of death for you. Show them some respect or lose their number all together since they are so "worthless." Replace your insults with encouraging words and prayer. God give me peace and thank you for my husband, thank you for the courage each of our officers need to require.
