I just wanted to add a last thought about Remembrance Day and the - TopicsExpress

I just wanted to add a last thought about Remembrance Day and the Nova Scotia Remembrance Day Act in Nova Scotia. I did miss something and I must apologize to my POE for it. Under the Remembrance Day Act in Nova Scotia, there are exemptions, and here they are: Exemptions The Remembrance Day Act does not apply to the following types of businesses: farming, fishing and aquaculture Christmas tree operations tree harvesting, logging and forest industry as defined by the Labour Standards Code industrial undertakings as defined by the Labour Standards Code - e.g., mines, factories (including ship building), power generation, construction and inbound call centers. This means that November 11 is a regular business day for these types of businesses. Note the last one - Inbound Call Centers. Its just a regular business day, meaning that they do not have to honour the Remembrance Day Act. Now the POE is choosing to pay holiday pay to their employees, and so we should be grateful for they, as THEY ARE NOT REQUIRED TO. I still believe, that it is a matter of respect to suspend operations for 3 minutes to honour servicemen and servicewomen. I may be more forceful about it then some, but it is due to the large number of my family members that have served. My POE is not required to do this, but I still believe it is a matter of honour. And I will always believe this. But that is on me, not them. Just wanted to point out my error though. Thanks for listening.
