I just wanted to bring this to the attention of all of those people who think that these boys were prosecuted according to the law: 1) It is the the ultimate discretion of the prosecution to decide what charges to bring against a defendant. (So all of you who think that they were charged according to the law...you are wrong. This particular statute was chosen by the persecution to charge these juveniles with) 2) The felony murder law in non-specific, the wording intends for offenders to be able to be charged with felony murder if a victim was killed during the course of a felony crime. In this case, an offender was killed 3) No one here says that these boys are innocent, we all agree that they should be charged with the crime that they committed 4) No one here blames the victim, the home owner 5) statistics prove that making an example out of an offender has absolutely no effect on preventing potential crime Let me inform you, naysayers, that I will provide you with educated information on any of your uneducated opinions. I will be the first to say that one of the biggest problems with our criminal justice system is the fact that so many citizens remain uninformed and yet highly opinionated.
