I just wanted to give a big hearty, heart-filled, mirthy HAPPY 54th BIRTHDAY to the man who I call Dad-dad-daddy-o, Mitch Byers! Dad, I want to thank you for all the sacrifices, hardships, trials, and tears youve put in to raising me to be the person I am today. As a now fellow-father, I know that it isnt easy (downright insanely difficult, more like). But even more, thank you for all the *JOYS* you shared with us. I will always fondly remember the games of catch in the backyard/driveway/park; you taught me how to throw a baseball, catch a line drive, and to not be afraid of that pitch. Get in front of your problems and face them head on. A lesson I can still learn. You taught me how to take care of my brothers, a bond that has grown stronger, and how to lead by serving. I still wonder how you still had energy after a long day of work; you are still my role model for my work ethic! All the times we compared baseball cards, brought us to ball games, and I see that we all have inherited your passion for our own hobbies. Thank you for teaching me how to handle a mint condition comic book, how to meticulously take notes, how to study my Bible and pray, to find ingeniously simple ways to re-use an egg carton to fix a broken CD player (with a little duct tape of course), how to stand for your beliefs with conviction and when to question those beliefs... Thank you for giving me the most amazing childhood memories, as early as those bike rides on the back of the bike and you holding your breath for forever in my Micky Mouse Safari kiddie pool, the piggy-back rides and the pushes on the swings, the crispy-edge pancakes and your (glorious) mashed potatoes, the Quantum Leaps Back to the Future and my fascination with soundtracks....Thank you for being my Dad and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
