I just wanted to pass this along to all my travelling vendor - TopicsExpress

I just wanted to pass this along to all my travelling vendor friends, especially the great guys I just met at @AIM Tire here on the west coast. Just a public service announcement for a fellow trackside vendor who lives the nomadic life sometimes.. I had a severe headache last night. It just wouldnt break, and this is not normal for me and being 2000 miles from home, I wanted to be cautious. I ran over to a local ER to get checked out. It ends up it was really nothing to worry about. They said I probably just had minor carbon monoxide poisoning, probably from being around a small engine that was putting its exhaust into a confined space. They also said that being exposed to excessive noise in the workplace could contribute and I should talk to OSHA.:):) The headache broke and all is well today. Nothing to get excited about or talk to any lawyers or anything. But, there was a guy there getting treated for a hand injury, something about a fight with some unreasonable guy with bad hearing. Said he lost his temper when the guy chest bumped him, wishes he wouldnt have hit the guy but the police understood it was self defense and were not concerned. He said he had a voice recorder on his phone and he played the tape to the police, they said in so many words that guy needed his ass kicked The really interesting part is that he said I really should have put sugar or bleach in his gas tank. He had a locking cap, but you can pop those off with a pliers and leave no marks. I always though the sugar thing was a myth, and never even thought of bleach. Well, and I have a locking gas cap too. Anyway, he said both of these items can just sit in your tank for a while and you not even know it. Especially in a diesel. Then they just happen to get sucked up into the engine or rot a fuel line and bammo, in the middle of nowhere your truck dies and you are stuck. Repair bills can be in the thousands. Messing with another mans truck is verboten in my book, no matter how much you disagree with them. Sugar or Bleach in a gas tank is a douchebag move and could be dangerous, especially to us vendors who tow big heavy trailers all around the country, through the mountains, etc. And the damage can show up a long time after the original offense. Scary. Two reasonable people can generally always discuss a problem and at least agree to disagree without resorting to douchebaggery. For example, you and I had some disagreement over vendor spots earlier in the week, but after we worked it out, everything is great now and I really appreciate the warm welcome you gave me to California and Sonoma Raceway. I hope we can meet up again and I hope this info helps. I am going to pass along to all of my travelling friends!
