I just wanted to share a little of the devotion I read from Jennifer Marshall this morning. Gods Road Map. In autopilot mode, we tend to focus on the next milestone-whether thats graduation, getting a job, getting married, having a baby, getting the kids through school, or retiring. When things dont come along on our time line, the discrepancy between expectations and actual experience can be disorienting. Whats more, focusing too much on the next milestone can cause us to dismiss or even despise the time between milestones. But the in-between time is not throwaway time. Real life doesnt begin at the next milestone. It is here and now, and God has us exactly where He wants us for exactly as long as He wants us here. The grand design to our lives is determined by our first call, to glorify and enjoy God- the single overriding purpose and pilot of our lives.
